Come celebrate New Year's Eve with us!

Great Outdoors Los Angeles invites you to join us for an amazing weekend celebrating the arrival of the new year culminating with a Funky Formal-Formal Dinner on New Year's Eve.

We have reserved RV and tent sites at Agua Caliente hot springs located in the amazing landscapes of Anza Borrego State Park. Where else can you spend the day hiking through slot canyons, explore palm grove oasis high on the mountainside, marvel at the beautiful scenery AND return to camp and relax in 3 geothermal heated mineral pools. The indoor pool with all glass walls and ceiling is heated to 102 degrees and is reserved for adults and kids over 14 during the day and adults only from 6:00-9:00pm. The 2 outdoor pools are open to all ages. Imagine yourself relaxing those tired bones after a long day of exploring or just stay in camp and enjoy the pools during the day.

We will have a traditional meet and greet on Friday evening and then a Funky Formal-Formal Dinner provided by Great Outdoors LA on New Years Eve. We invite you to wear you own version of funky formal, be it a tux with tails, fancy dinner jacket, pajamas & a black tie (?), maybe your favorite crazy hat & a bath robe? It’s your call. Just have some fun with it. We’ll provide all the fixings and fancy dinnerware. Bring your favorite bottle of champagne/wine to share. Due to the formal dinner there will be no pot luck on Saturday.

Dinner will include:
Pot Roast with carrots and potatoes, Mac and Cheese (a great vegetarian option), cornbread with honey butter, steamed veggies, and appetizers. Dessert will also be provided. Or, if you have one you're just dying to share, please let us know.
Agua Caliente is located in a remote part of Anza Borrego with dark skies for star gazing and local trails for hiking. About 35-40 min. away is the amazing slot canyon with areas only passable by one person at a time. A little farther down the road is the Erosion Road tour, a 21 mile one way paved road that goes through some remarkable geological features. Closer to camp is Mountain Palm Oasis which offers a short hike to a small valley filled with towering palms and a seasonal stream with great view of the valley below.
Amenities at Agua Caliente include the soothing geothermal pools, coin operated showers, flush toilets, potable water, shuffle board and horse shoes, and a sun deck outside the pools for lounging. There is a small souvenir store nearby with very limited groceries and ice.

Getting there:

The campground is about about 3 hours from Los Angeles to give some perspective. Be sure to carpool if you can. Be sure to fill your gas tank before heading to camp because the nearest gas is in Borrego Springs or Julian.

The address is 39555 Great Southern Overland Stage Route of 1849, Julian, CA 92036 and the GPS is 32.955447, -116.302300. Or click the link MapHere

Don't forget: The Great Outdoors 10 Essentials ClickHere, 2 bundles of firewood (can get chilly at night), and if you're opting for one of the electrified campsites, an extension cord and an electric blanket might be a good idea. Bring layers for both cold and warm weather, since it can be unpredictable in the desert this time of year. Check the weather forecast and plan accordingly.
